ABOUT JOSH

In 1997 Josh met his first mentor, a trainer named Tom Riche who would shape his journey as a dog trainer. At just 13 years old, Tom gave Josh his first introduction to protection dog training by putting him in a bite suit. From there, Josh continued to develop his feel for dogs, helping countless training teams meet their training goals and eventually becoming a National Level Helper with the United Schutzhund Clubs of America.

Josh started working as a pet dog trainer in 2003, working for a top training facility in San Diego County for almost 10 years. He has worked hundreds of pet dog clients with issues ranging from basic puppy obedience to severe dog and people aggression.

Josh’s training philosophy centers around finding what motivates the dog, whether it's a treat, ball, or just enthusiastic praise.

As a balanced dog trainer, Josh is able to tailor your training program so that you can get the results you want in the fastest way possible. In 2016, Josh started Action K9 so that he could give more individualized attention to his training clients. He shares his home with his Bull Terrier, Uno, and his German Shepherd, Xeno. In his spare time (outside of training dogs),  he enjoys raising Pigeons, fishing, and biking.
